Everyone deserves a break, a chance to unwind and recenter themselves, to connect back into the community at large and remember all the beauties that accompany life. And this is no different for NDIS participants.

NDIS respite is crucial for caregivers, giving them time to rest, travel, or spend time with other family and friends. But it’s also super beneficial for participants themselves to embark on an experience outside of their everyday life.

It’s a win-win, something that can provide a great amount of relief and benefit for both sides. And here at Easy Community Services, we take respite pretty seriously.

We embark on respite weekends for NDIS participants regularly, on top of our other crucial services, and we’re excited to give you a sneak-peek into just how beneficial these trips can be.

NDIS Respite Weekends: The Birth of Easy Community Services

NDIS respite weekends with Easy Community Services

Easy Community Services all started from a passion for supporting NDIS participants. Our team has a wealth of experience in the care industry, with a passion for making a difference in the lives of clients. We have a combined experience in the police force, accounting for major corporations, and other fields – including providing other support services for NDIS participants.

We’re committed to providing high-quality, personalised care that meets the individual needs of our clients.

And it all originated from taking NDIS participants on accessible, fun, and community-based weekends. Whether it was to the zoo, to a restaurant, or even across states, it was all about giving a taste of freedom, independence and, more importantly, joy to those who needed it most.

Because everyone deserves a break.

From there? Things snowballed into what Easy Community Services is today. We now offer personal care, assistance with daily living, transportation, meal preparation, housekeeping, social support, short term accommodation and more.

With a mission to ensure that each of our clients feels safe, we don’t wrap participants in cotton wool – we empower individuals to achieve their goals and maintain control of their lives and direction. We help each client build initiative, expand their world and increase their capabilities, and ensure all their resources are managed with integrity.

And we still participate in regular respite weekends to ensure our clients get the most out of our services and their lives.

Here’s What our NDIS Respite Weekends Look Like

At Easy Community Services, we like to keep things interesting for our clients. We don’t just take our clients on the same trip every weekend, mainly because we understand that most of our clients are returning – and want a little novelty in what they do.

We’ve embarked on a wide variety of different respite weekends – from the Gold Coast, to Christmas Carol events, all the way down south to Tassie. If you’re wondering what our NDIS respite weekends look like, here’s just a few of our favourites:

A Nice Drive Down to the Gold Coast

NDIS respite weekend at the Gold Coast

As a Brisbane-based company, we know there’s nothing nicer than taking a trip down to the coast. Through these sticky summer months, it’s a delight to escape to the beach and enjoy everything this coastline has to offer.

One of our more recent trips was a drive down to the Gold Coast. It was a scenic trip down, with a bit of time to rest before we enjoyed Diggers & Sports Club for dinner. With some good tunes and great company, we had a wonderful time.

We took a trip to Robina the next day, and enjoyed a nice rest followed by some cosy home activities. Games, jigsaw and colouring – all good for sensory and motor skills, and a lot of fun too!

Some fun in the boat: Cairns/Airlie Beach trip!

With such a big group, this trip was a super enjoyable one. Our clients always enjoy a great sense of community, especially when in a big team of like-minded individuals all ready to have some fun. Just look at those smiles!

A trip down south to Tassie

Our trip to Tasmania was more than a weekend away – it turned into a good few weeks travelling the southern state and soaking up the cooler weather. In this time, we got a LOT done.

We visited the Cadbury chocolate factory, said hello to a client’s family, drove to the “Edge of the World” and we even took some time in Port Arthur. We travelled through both Hobart and Launceston, and enjoyed some really pleasant weather.

While we were sad to come home, it was an incredible trip, and great to help our client visit their family, while also having a wonderful time down south! It’s moments like these that make all the difference.

NDIS respite weekend in Tasmania

We love looking back on all the fun we’ve had during our different NDIS respite weekends, but that’s not even the half of it. There’s so much fun to be had when our clients are able to step out of their usual routine, give their carers a break, and live life to the fullest.

And, with an understanding that every single person’s needs are different, we have no trouble creating a care plan that is tailored to their individual needs and preferences.

It extends well beyond our respite weekends, and into every single thing we do. We’re proud to make a difference in the lives of NDIS participants in whatever way possible. And the proof really is in the pudding …

Louise is just one of our clients who has benefited from the support of Easy Community Services. She has a disability and requires assistance with daily living activities, and here’s what she had to say:

How Easy Community Services improved Louises life

But she’s just one example of many. If you’re an NDIS participant or a family member of an NDIS participant, we encourage you to contact us to learn more about our services

Maybe you’re looking for assistance with daily activities, short term accommodation, social support – or maybe you just want to join in on the fun. No matter what it is you’re interested in, we’d love to answer any questions you have and discuss how we can help you or your loved one live a more independent and fulfilling life.

Like Louise, and every other client that has been left smiling after a weekend with us.
